I’m 5’6″ and I don’t think it looks too bulky on me.

Then I evolved & discovered & almost ordered an Osprey Farpoint 70. I started reading about folks going carry-on only. I did a trial run & everything I needed did indeed fit into a carry-on. So, I ordered a Farpoint 40. Now, thanks to you, I’m going to return the Farpoint in exchange for Tortuga. The extra 4 liters… the hip pockets… the side pockets. Three good reasons to choose Tortuga over Farpoint. Thanks for the thorough review and photos.

I’m a smaller frame (5′ 7″) and I don’t want to look like I have a full load on my back. Thanks!

curacao is really full of thrill and excitement. I choose to go for this
activity because I love off-roading. This vehicle is very light and runs on the
off-roads very amazingly.

Thanks for the great review on this pack! I’m planing an ATW trip next year and one of the biggest decisions for me has been choosing a backpack. I’m torn between the Tortuga and the Osprey Farpoint 55. My trip will take me through four continents including Europe. How would this pack compare to the Osprey?

Quick question: do you think it could be squished easily to 21″×14″×9″? Several Canadian airlines have 21″ or 21.5″ as the length of their sizing devices, so I’m hoping is be able to get this bag past them if I were to order it (is the main thing holding me back right now; the other is whether or not I’m too short for the bag, since I’m 160cm/just shy of 5’3″).

Thanks!
