I’d also advise that you know how to spell “voila” if you’re going to a French-speaking country. :p

What I am trying to say is that we are more like one another than different. Living in two cultures, you begin to see how similar cultural things really are, but how different people are on an individual level. We like to compartmentalize people, and say things like Germans are much more liberal, or Americans too religious or all like guns. In reality, I know a fair number of gun loving, socially conservative Germans as well as some gun hating atheist Americans.

Interestingly, I always recognize fellow Americans by the way the hold their utensils, overtip (by European standards), count with their fingers, and most often of all, by their speech. Short of that, I don’t think you could be too sure about where anyone in the US or Europe was from based on their dress.

I dress just like I do at home. I think I blend right in. Most people don’t even know I am American till I speak German with an American English accent and even then they are guessing (years of German). I think we dress pretty similar throughout the West, esp those of us who are more mature (aka older).

EXACTLY. DO NOT LISTEN TO GARBAGE LIKE THIS. They are all jealous, arabs/europe of america. Europe likes to talk big about some kind of better world, but have you seen their countries? Rubbish in and out, full of racists still throwing bananas at soccer players haha. They arent out for justice or some better world, fashion or otherwise, they just want americas power. period. im not even american, but ive lived in countries all over the world, most americans ive met (black white brown) are the best people you could come across.
