@Teslaton: Can you please share the username of the sockmaster so I can make sure this is tagged properly on Commons? I remember this user (or someone else doing the same thing) coming up before. The Squirrel Conspiracy (talk) 15:07, 22 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I don't keep track of his possible activities here on Commons, in fact this particular form of abuse (uploading custom deepfakes instead of using existing sexually explicit images) is quite new from his side AFAIK, but the page set affected on skwiki is highly correlated with previous cases, specific by inserting sexual vulgarisms/profanities and choosing sexually vulgar usernames. On skwiki there are dozens of related accounts over recent years, see [1] with "Jednorázový provokačný účet, vulg." summary. Tehere is also a CU check related from 2023-09, [2]. --Teslaton (talk) 18:32, 22 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Request to suppress old redundant revisions for cleanup

He I would like to kindly ask if it is possible to suppress the old, now-deleted revisions of the file File:Monacizzo-Stemma.png, which are currently shown as strikethrough in the upload history.

These previous versions were either graphically incorrect or unintended uploads of the final version.

Since the current version is correct and definitive, and the image represents a public emblem (a municipal coat of arms), I am only requesting cleanup for clarity and order—not for privacy or copyright concerns.

I understand that deleted revisions are no longer publicly accessible, but if it’s possible to simplify the visible history, it would be appreciated.

Thank you very much! G12345zz (talk) 06:06, 28 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there G12345zz, I'm not sure there's any way of accomplishing that other than deleting the image completely and uploading it under a new name. Stifle (talk) 08:06, 28 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Ok thanks for the help, I'll do that then. G12345zz (talk) 10:30, 28 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@G12345zz: Hello, There are puzzling aspects. One might wonder why the insistence to hide the file history. Would you mind clarifying these few questions, please?
1. Can you please provide a reliable reference for an official coat of arms of Monacizzo?
2. Is the concept of this coat of arms your own idea, entirely or partly? Is that why the previous versions were different and why you spoke of a "new idea" when changing the concept?
3. This image being apparently made of graphical elements provided by CoaMaker.com, the CoaMaker.com copyright notice and terms of use specify that "The copyright of all elements remains with the owner of CoaMaker.com." and there is no free license. Where does the statement of CC0 come from?
4. If your other upload (File:Monacizzo dall'alto.jpg) is sourced from a calendar and is by an unknown author, can you please provide the evidence for the statement of CC0? Also, why was it attributed to professional photographer Michelangelo De Vicentis in the first, deleted, version, but attributed to an unknown author in the second version?
Thank you. -- Asclepias (talk) 14:17, 28 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

FWIW, there is no technical difficulty in suppressing old versions of a file. Any admin can do this. Normally, when we do this, we suppress only the content, not the fact of there being a former version. - Jmabel ! talk 23:54, 28 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Closure of DRs

Hello, can an admin please close the DRs Commons:Deletion requests/File:Buchner Mechanism A V1.svg and Commons:Deletion requests/File:Formamides reagieren mit Burgess-Reagenz.svg. Thanks in advance, Chem Sim 2001 (talk) 19:39, 28 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

  •  Comment Is there some particular reason that these images are particularly dangerous and need prompt admin attention to be deleted? If so, you probably should explain. Otherwise, the deletion listings have been open less than a week - except for obvious copyright violations files are not usually deleted sooner, and there's a general backlog. So unless there is specific urgency (which I didn't see in a quick glance), I'd advise patience. -- Infrogmation of New Orleans (talk) 20:08, 28 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@Infrogmation: There is no real urgent reason to delete it sooner, except for the clear reason to delete these files. But I can also wait for 1-2 days. Chem Sim 2001 (talk) 21:13, 28 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Recently, Category:Biel/Bienne was renamed to Category:Biel-Bienne, obviously based on the wrong assumption that a category name should not include a slash. Is it possible to revert that rename? The same goes for Category:Biel/Bienne (administrative district) which was wrongly renamed to Category:Biel-Bienne (administrative district). Flickr review bot stuck

Seems like Flickr review bot is stuck again, with the last contribution being on 1:00 at File:AL61A-409 Consolidated O-17 28-384.jpg. Can someone "unstuck" it please? BrazilianDude70 (talk) 17:35, 29 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

This is a duplicate of this thread: Commons:Village pump/Technical#User:FlickreviewR 2 appears to be down; and the issue seems to be on Flickr's side. Regards, Grand-Duc (talk) 18:33, 29 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

As some of you presumably know, FlickreviewR 2 is effectively down, apparently because of recent changes on Flickr that are preventing sites on toolforge from accessing their API. As of this writing, there are nearly 10,000 files in Category:Flickr review needed and another few thousand in Category:Flickr images needing human review and its subcats.

Have we reached the point where we need to work more on dealing with these by hand? I don't think we can presume that Flickr will just start cooperating again. - Jmabel ! talk 19:13, 30 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

And, in particular, may I request review of the following files, because I have higher-res versions of all of these I'd like to upload, and cannot until review is complete.
- Jmabel ! talk 19:27, 30 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Hello Jmabel, 5 of 6 are done and reviewed. For File:Camping on Ross Lake, 1971.jpg, the Flickr source got apparently messed up by C&P, as it links to the one of File:Seattle - Senior Sports Festival, circa 1982.jpg. Could you fix it, please? Regards, Grand-Duc (talk) 20:22, 30 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks, Grand-Duc. I've now fixed that one. - Jmabel ! talk 23:17, 30 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Noting here that a maintainer has been notified and is aware of the issue. Flickr is currently blocking all API requests from toolforge. All the Best -- Chuck Talk 20:37, 30 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Again, though, have we reached the point where we need to work more on dealing with these by hand? - Jmabel ! talk 23:17, 30 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

The manual review cat needs work, but I think the completly unreviewed cat will continue to grow for a few days until it gets fixed. All the Best -- Chuck Talk 23:34, 30 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@Jmabel: I just passed the last review too. Regards, Grand-Duc (talk) 23:59, 30 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Whatever we decide here, the situation in which one can upload files from Flickr automatically or semi-automatically (assuming this is possible) but the files can only be reviewed manually in unsustainable and unacceptable.--Ymblanter (talk) 07:23, 31 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Major Flickrreview Breakdown

Dear Admins and Trusted Users,

I don't understand why no one has noticed this but the flickr bot has malfunctioned since May 28, 2025 and there is now a massive Backlog of 12,400+ images Can someone fix the problem with the flickrbot please ASAP. I don't know if it is User:Steinsplitter, User:Multichill, User:Sikander or User:AntiCompositeNumber but this is a major breakdown. No one can mark 12,000 images except a bot...which is malfunctioning right now for 2-3 days. Thank You, --Leoboudv (talk) 09:34, 1 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Help rename DR page

So I tried performing a batch task to create a DR titled Anthems performed by Keith Terrett. @TansoShoshen: Commons:Deletion requests/Files found with "https://nationalanthems.info/" does not exist (and with those quotation marks in the title probably wouldn't be a valid file name in any case) so there is nothing I can move. - Jmabel ! talk 17:59, 30 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
